Intel programeaza noi reduceri de preturi pentru 22 iulie

Cu toate că Intel sugerase anterior o a doua reducere de preţuri (după cea din 22 aprilie) prin august sau septembrie, iată că, în mod surprinzător, acest moment a fost devansat pentru data de 22 iulie. Neîndoielnic, mişcarea va avea impact asupra vânzărilor de procesoare AMD. Şi chiar dacă strategia Intel nu va anihila lansarea procesoarelor AMD pe socket AM2+, va micşora oricum din frontul pe care firma din Sunny Vale mizează.

Conform acestui ultim plan de reduceri, procesorul Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield (2.4GHz, 2 x 4MB cache L2, FSB 1066MHz) va fi oferit la preţul de 266 USD (preţ la achiziţia a 1000 de bucăţi), locul său pe actualul segment de preţ urmând a fi luat de noul model Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield (2.66GHz, 2 x 4MB cache L2, FSB 1066MHz). Acesta din urmă va putea fi achiziţionat, aşadar, cu 530 USD (la cumpărarea unei cantităţi de 1000 de unităţi).

În ceea ce priveşte procesoarele desktop destinate segmentului mainstream, în timp ce pentru familia Core 2 Duo E6x00 nu există, deocamdată, date despre o eventuală modificare a preţurilor, pentru familia Core 2 Duo 6x50, programată pentru 22 iulie şi care prezintă avantajul FSB-ului de 1333 MHz, se anunţă preţuri extrem de avantajoase. Astfel, modelele E6550 (2.33GHz), E6750 (2.66GHz) şi E6850 (3GHz) vor avea preţuri de 163 USD, 183 USD şi, respectiv 266 USD, cu aproape 40% mai mici decât versiunile cu FSB de 1066 MHz. Împreună cu deja cunoscutele chipset-uri Bearlake, se aşteaptă ca acestea să obţină un record de vânzări.

ThuG Team atinge 8180 MHz cu Pentium 4 631

După ce în urmă cu puţin timp echipa italiană de overclock a fost prima care a depăşit frecvenţa de 8 GHz, vechiul record a fost depăşit, atingându-se aproape 8180 MHz.

Echipa italiană fondată de un român are în componenţă patru membri (unul din ei fiind fondatorul) a depăşit un nou prag, apropiindu-se cu paşi repezi de 8200 MHz. Ultimul lor rezultat îl depăşeşte pe cel vechi cu 179 MHz, atingându-se în ultima sesiune frecvenţa de 8179,89 MHz, rezultând astfel un overclock de aproximativ 173 procente. La fel de impresionant este şi PSB-ul atins cu un procesor Pentium 4, cei 545 MHz nefiind uşor de atins şi necesitând o moficare radicală a plăcii de bază.

La procesoarele core 2 duo pt desktop,cum e mai bine sa setezi raportu fsb:ram ca sa ai o performantza mai crescuta 1:1 sau sa-l lasi setat auto de placa de baza?

Daca nu umbli sa dobori recorduri in SuperPi, nu merita sa-ti bati capul. Diferentele intre 1:1 si 4:5, 2:3 etc sunt nesemnificative. In principiu e bine ca memoria sa ruleze la frecvente cat mai mari si cu timing-uri cat mai stranse, dar si aici diferentele sunt aproape neglijabile. Dupa cum se vede din testul baietilor de la hardware.fr, intre DDR2-667/5-5-5 si DDR2-1066/4-4-4 este un spor de 13,6% in WinRAR si 9,2% in FarCry... asta in conditiile in care WinRAR-ul si jocurile sunt printre aplicatiile cele mai sensibile la setarile memoriei.

Nu e niciun secret. Penryn e numele intregii familii si a procesoarelor pt notebook-uri. Versiunile desktop se vor chema Wolfdale (dual-core) si Yorkfield (quad-core). Diferentele fata de Conroe si Kentsfield sunt:
1. proces de fabricatie de 45nm (rezulta consum mai mic si frecvente mai mari)
2. L2 cache mai mare cu 50%: 6MB/dual-core
3. ceva tweak-uri mai marunte
4. SSE4 care se pare ca poate dubla viteza in codari.

Vor aparea incepand cu sfarsitul anului, initial versiunea de top Core 2 Extreme, apoi incet incet vor veni si restul.

Trebuia să postezi într-un topic separat,nu în acesta.Deci,în primul rând 8600GTS nu merită deoarece e un 8600GT overclockat.Du-te pe un Gainward Bliss 8600GT Golden Sample Goes Like Hell - 356 RON.Are o capacitate de overclocking uriaşă,răcire foarte eficientă,best-buy categoric.
La memorii,du-te pe ceva de calitate,nu orice set de memorii la 2 GB,care-i mai ieftin.Asta cred că ar fi o soluţie ideală : Corsair DDR2 2 GB TWIN2X2048-6400C4.
Procesor:Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 BOX.
Placă de bază:Gigabyte P35-DS4.
Totalul este de aproximativ 1650 RON,faţă de cei aproximativ 1580 RON care i-ai fi dat pe componentele alese de tine.Se potrivesc mult mai bine,degeaba pui un procesor de 700 RON pe o placă de 180 RON,zic eu,mai bine investeşti în produse cu un raport preţ/performanţă bun.

Rarely have things looked as good for Intel as they do right now. Exactly 18 months after the introduction of Intel's highly successful Core 2 CPUs, the chipmaker is updating them. It is shrinking the structures from 65 nm to 45 nm (Penryn refers to Intel's new family of 45 nm CPUs, dual and quad core), and is already preparing the next step: the transition to the Nehalem platform. However, that's all still in the future, and won't come to pass until the end of 2008 at the earliest.......

Primele procesoare desktop de la Intel pe 45 nm-Extreme QX9775 şi Extreme QX9650

On Monday Intel plans to finally launch many Penryn 45 nanometer cores, but only one will be a desktop CPU. The other, Harpertown 45 nanometer based chips, will be server only and Intel plans to launch a massive 22 parts next week.

The QX9650 Extreme, which we reviewed here, launches on Monday and it will cost a hefty US$990, but you can expect a bit steeper end user price.

Intel plans two new cores for Q1 2008, one called QX9775 and the second, QX9770. The Core 2 Extreme processor branded as QX9770 is 3.2GHz CPU with 12 MB of cache, FSB 1600MHz support and LGA 775. This one will work in desktop X48 boards and it will cost US$1,370 at launch.

The one with the biggest number, QX9775. is also clocked at 3.2GHz and has the same 12MB cache and FSB 1600MHz, but it uses LGA771 socket and is reserved for Skulltrail dual socket system only. One of these will cost US$1,470 and of course you need two of them for for Skulltrail platform; this will set you back a jolt at US$3,000, and that is only for two CPUs.

Both QX9775 and QX9770 will launch in Q1, while QX9650 launches on the 12th of November.

Intel plans to release a bunch of 45nm mobile chips at CES and the top one, branded X9000, will work at an amazing 2.8GHz. This will be a chip for enthusiasts who will spend a bunch of money on these super expensive machines and this is the best Intel has to offer this year.

The new mobile chip has 6MB of cache memory, works at 800MHz FSB and works with 0.5 to 1.5V voltages. It uses uFCPGA8 / Socket P and if you want thousands of them you will pay something close to $827 for one.

Clockwise this chip is the same as X7900 but the new Wolfdale core has 6MB of cache and support for SSE4 that can speed up some operations. The X9000 should be close to 45W TDP which is a top for these high end mobile extreme chips.

We wanted to share the last details of the Core 2 Duo, 45nm Wolfdale chips and to reveal their prices. The cheapest of them with 6MB clocked at 2.66MHz with FSB 1333 and LGA 775 packaging, branded as E8200 will sell for as little as $159.

The second in this line E8400 has the same specification but works at 3.0GHz and it will sell for incredibly cheap $179.

The top dual core at 45nm works at 3.16GHz and it will sell for $258. These chips will replace the existing Core 2 Duo Merom based E6x50 series and we are sure that they will overclock well.

QX9770 overclocked to 4.2 Ghz

Of course, we really wanted to see what it would take to reach 5.0 GHz, but increasing the core voltage setting beyond 1.500 volts let the heat monster out of the box. Each tiny increase in voltage brought with it a huge increase in temperature that we simply couldn't remove fast enough. We could have tested the CPU at 4.30 GHz using 1.4875 V, but the difference of 100 MHz didn't seem worthy of the increased risk when taking our CPU beyond the cooler-running 1.450 V setting.

In afara numelui nu prea sunt diferente. Xeoanele sunt destinate serverelor si sunt sanse sa nu fie recunoscute corect de toate placile de baza desktop. Ia-ti un Q6600 G0 (SLACR).

Celeron E1200: Dual-Core Processor Almost for Free @ X-Bit Labs

Conclusion

New Celeron E1200 doesn’t aim too high. It is the slowest dual-core processor in Intel’s today’s lineup. Which is actually not surprising at all, as it is the cheapest CPU at this time, too. Nevertheless, Intel made a significant step forward by introducing dual-core architecture into their budget solutions. In most cases Celeron E1200 turned out faster than the top single-core representative of this processor family, Celeron 440. Most software is already optimized for multi-threaded applications, which allows Celeron E1200 to show its real advantages in full.

However, despite all those things we have just said we can’t proclaim the new Celeron E1200 the best choice in its price segment. The thing is that dual-core AMD processors priced the same provide higher performance. Athlon 64 X2 4000+ outperformed Celeron E1200 in our tests in all tasks except those dealing with image and video processing that are not sensitive to L2 cache size.

All in all, our measurements suggest that cutting the L2 cache of the dual-core processor down to 512KB does have a serious negative effect on the performance. And overclocking will not be the remedy in this case. Although dual-core budget processors from Intel can more than double their speed as a result of successful overclocking, their gaming performance can hardly hit the level of Core 2 Duo E4600 even at 3.4GHz clock speed. That is why the new dual-core Celeron processors will hardly be of interest to gaming enthusiasts. Moreover, for only $11 more you can get Pentium E2160 that can guarantee about 25% faster gaming experience.

At the same time, the new dual-core Celeron E1200 can find its niche. For example, when overclocked these processors cope very well with video and audio encoding and pretty well with rendering. That is why dual-core Celeron processors from the E1000 series can be used in a much broader range of tasks, while their predecessors could fit only for office and simple home systems.

Ptr ca am citit pe un site ca Intel vrea sa le lanseze abia atunci cand o sa aiba concurenta serioasa de la AMD pe segmentul asta....iar AMD planuieste sa lanseze noile sale procesoare quad-core in al treilea semestru al anului 2008....Eu sincer vroiam un Q9450,dar m-i se pare cam mult sa astept pana spre sfarsitul anului....Voi ce parere aveti,merita asteptarea sau mai bine imi cumpar unul din procesoarele deja disponibile pe piata? Aia crezi tu.E cea mai mare greseala pe care o poti face.Pe piata IT produsele se devalorizeaza foarte repede,si am patit-o pe propria piele.De la 10 milioane,cat am dat pe CPU,ajung sa-l vand cu 1 milion.Intr-adevar merită sa investesti o gramada de bani in componente.Mai bine iei un PC mainstream pe care-l tot upgradezi.
