Gigabyte ne dezvăluie deja propria sa versiune GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB

Probabil că prima întâlnire ccu GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB, o placă video bazată pe chip-ul grafic Nvidia G92, a şocat în mod neplăcut pe mulţi privitori, aspectul exterior al sistemului de răcire, cu "mantaua" sa rectangulară şi neagră, nefiind deloc o culme a perfecţiunii estetice. Totuşi, nu vom uita să reamintim faptul că, în practică, un asemenea sistem de răcire se achită destul de bine de sarcinile sale.

Pe paginile site-ului Expreview şi-a făcut deja loc fotografia unei plăci video GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB, produs pe care Nvidia îl va anunţa pe data de 11 decembrie. De data aceasta este vorba despre o implementare venită de la Gigabyte şi pregătită în versiune box. Vândută sub numele de referinţă GV-NX88S512H-B, această placă video este animată de procesorul grafic G92 echipat cu 128 de unităţi de procesare (stream processors) şi este tactată la frecvenţele nominale de 650/1625/1940 MHz (GPU/shader/memorii). Pe suprafaţa netedă a carcasei care protejează sistemul de răcire este plasată o etichetă de dimensiuni impunătoare.



În planurile companiei taiwaneze, acest model vine să înlocuiască varianta G80 GeForce 8800 GTX (GV-NX88X768H-RH). Mai mult decât atât, Gigabyte intenţionează să retragă cât de curând şi versiunea standard GeForce 8800 GT 512MB (GV-NX88T512H-B), pentru ca locul rămas liber să fie ocupat de o implementare inedită, GV-NX88T512HP, echipată cu răcire Zalman şi cu frecvenţe de operare de 700/1700/1800 MHz (GPU/shader/memorie). Noua versiune Gigabyte GeForce 8800 GT 512MB (GV-NX88T512HP) va dezvălui un PCB cu un design particular şi se va bucura de componente de calitate (inclusiv de un etaj de alimentare în trei faze).



Revenind, să mai spunem că placa video Gigabyte GV-NX88S512H-B (GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB) va fi însoţită de jocul video NeverWinter Nights 2. Preţul acestui produs nu a fost încă dezvăluit, însă el s-ar putea situa în apropierea sumei de 300 de euro (aprox. 430 USD).

AMD 790FX Chipset and motherboard preview

As you may know, AMD has just launched their brand new PC platform solution, codenamed 'Spider'. Spider is really an ecosystem consisting of the AMD Phenom processor, AMD 790FX chipset and the ATI Radeon HD 3800 series graphics. AMD is banking on these new components to revitalize its position in the consumer PC market. However, it is quite unfortunate that the one component with the biggest hype and the most promise - the AMD Phenom processor - is the only product we're missing to complete AMD's trifecta. While we aren't really one to speculate, AMD's inability to provide seeding units is troubling indeed. So while we have graphics cards and motherboards stacking up, we're left twiddling our thumbs without so much as a whiff of a CPU to test on.

Foxconn Mars - Intel P35

The MARS is a very solid entry from Foxconn into the enthusiast market, and we have no problems recommending this board as an excellent choice for overclockers to mess around with. At US$190, the Foxconn MARS is priced around the same range as its competitors, though this time, Foxconn doesn't have the price advantage. For instance, both abit's IP35 Pro and MSI's P35 Platinum boards are slightly more competitive.

Like MSI's initial Diamond Club, which was an exclusive membership for users who purchased their Diamond series of products, Foxconn seems to have committed themselves to follow a similar path with their Quantum Force, offering MARS users membership and early access to BIOS updates and other special offers. Hopefully, this isn't a one-off kind of thing. If Foxconn can actually maintain its current momentum to support and supply MARS (and future Quantum Force products) users with continuous updates and tweaks, the MARS can get better over time and Foxconn will be on track to become a serious contender in the enthusiast segment.

MSI P35 Neo2FR : Platinum Performance for under 100$

MSI surprised us with the overall performance of the P35 Neo2-FR motherboard. We figured they would neuter the performance of the board so as not to cannibalize sales of the P35 Platinum series. Turns out, we were incorrect. Sure, the Platinum board has FireWire, S/PDIF Optical out, and a conversation generating roller coaster cooling system, but it also costs about $40 more. The performance between the two boards is almost identical making this purchasing decision easy in our opinion unless you need FireWire capabilities. If so, MSI offers the Neo2-FIR for about $10 more.

ASUS Maximus DDR3 vs. ASUS Maximus DDR2

Its clear that the Maximus Series is based on the P5E Series, but with even better results. The power-consumption was especially surprising. While we complained of the high price on the P5E series, the Maximus Series boards do offer much better value for money. The Formula Edition is available for under €200,-. The Special Edition, which we have tested, is fitted for water-cooling and costs about €220,-. You can go for the Extreme Edition, which is only €15,- more expensive because of the expensive IDT PCIe split chip. Available for about €235,- it will cost you much more for the memory modules.

Succeeding the P5E Series this board offers much more value to it's price, we complained the P5E Series is too expensive but the Maximus Series is leveled. You get a fast board with improved VRM, stable operation, high FSB overclocks and lots of BIOS features to tweak your board, so it gets as fast as possible.

The only major complaint left is the analogue VRM, which is still the best ASUS did so far and goes quite near to DFI, but is still a bit away. Especially when you do high overclocking the VRM limits you. With the new Penryn CPUs coming up, this will be no major concern, because the new CPUs will use less energy to run at same speeds. The boards are good and we have to congratulate ASUS for their advances with the Maximus Series.

AsRock: două plăci de bază cu suport pentru FSB-ul de 1600 MHz şi pentru memoriile DDR2/DDR3

Anul 2008 se pare că va marca momentul schimbării pentru ASRock. După ce va propune produse dintr-o categorie mai costisitoare, compania taiwaneză va încerca să scape de imaginea de producător de plăci de bază value, destinate utilizatorilor sensibili la preţ. Aşadar, pentru anul următor ASRock şi-a planificat să aloce, din totalul producţiei sale de plăci de bază, o fracţiune de aproximativ 35-40% produselor din gamele mainstream şi high-end.

Ei bine, chiar dacă până la ofensiva din 2008 ar mai fi avut un răgaz de vreo două zile, ASRock este deja pregătită să ne dezvăluie informaţii despre plăcile de bază 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ şi 4Core1600Twins-P35, ambele produse fiind concepute pe baza chipset-ului Intel P35. Cum acest chipset va anima platformele Intel cel puţin încă o jumătate de an de acum încolo, nu se poate spune că este vorba despre un chipset vechi. Cu toate acestea, compania ASRock rămâne fidelă propriei sale tradiţii, aceea de a obţine suport pentru combinaţii de componente dintre cele mai neobişnuite.

În mod special, plăcile de bază din seria 4Core1600, care suportă frecvenţe ale FSB-ului de 1600 MHz, o specificaţie cu care, de altfel, s-au lăudat plăcile de bază P35 oferite de multe alte brand-uri, propun suport alternativ pentru memoriile de tip DDR2-1066 şi DDR3-1333. Pentru primul tip de memorii (DDR2), ambele plăci de bază ASRock sunt prevăzute cu patru slot-uri DIMM, în timp ce pentru memoriile DDR3 sunt alocate numai două slot-uri.

Două slot-uri PCI Express x16, care operează potrivit formulei "PCI Express x16 + PCI Express x4", asigură suport oficial pentru tehnologia AMD CrossFire. Între cele două slot-uri PCI Express x16 există o distanţă destul de mare (dublă), însă dincolo de cel de-al doilea slot PCI Express rămâne destul loc pentru alte trei porturi PCI. Este de la sine înţeles faptul că ambele plăci sunt gata să găzduiască procesoarele pe 45nm Intel Yorkfield şi Wolfdale.

Chiar dacă diferenţele dintre cele două noi plăci de bază sunt minime, haideţi să le trecem rapid în revistă. 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ se bucură de un controller WiFi (802.11g), care ia forma unui modul special cu antenă, în timp ce 4Core1600Twins-P35 dispune numai de conectorul care îngăduie racordarea respectivului adaptor WiFi. Prima platformă este construită pe baza cuplului Intel P35 + ICH9R, iar cea de-a doua se bazează pe combinaţia Intel P35 + ICH9. Ca rezultat al acestor combinaţii, 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ introduce suport pentru şase porturi Serial-ATA II, pentru ca 4Core1600Twins-P35 să se mulţumească cu numai patru asemenea porturi. În schimb, ambele plăci oferă pe panelul din spate porturi eSATA. În mod firesc, suport pentru configuraţii RAID oferă numai produsul 4Core1600P35-WiFi+.

Potrivit celor susţinute de ASRock, 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ foloseşte numai condensatori cu dielectric solid, în vreme ce pentru cealaltă placă de bază această afirmaţie nu este reiterată. Pentru cele două produse ASRock este propus un codec audio de bună calitate, ALC890, care introduce suport pentru DTS şi care se mândreşte cu un raport semnal/zgomot nu mai mic de 110 dB. Conectori Gigabit LAN există pe ambele plăci de bază, însă numai 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ este echipată cu două diode luminiscente care indică activitatea. De altfel, numai 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ dispune de două porturi FireWire (IEEE 1394). În China, preţul plăcii de bază ASRock 4Core1600P35-WiFi+ este de aproximativ 136 USD, iar ASRock 4Core1600Twins-P35 este propusă la un tarif de circa 91 USD.

Arctic Cooling: Alpine 7 Pro şi Alpine 7 GT

Multe dintre actualele plăci de bază destinate procesoarelor socket LGA775 au în dotare conectori cu patru pini pentru alimentarea ventilatorului unui cooler, specificaţie care permite controlul vitezei de rotaţie a fan-ului prin metoda PWM (Pulse Width Modulation). Astfel, turaţia ventilatorului se modifică în funcţie de temperatura procesorului, iar nivelul de zgomot devine mult mai confortabil. Realizând beneficiile introduse, producătorii de sisteme de răcire s-au grăbit să adopte tot mai mult ventilatoare cu funcţie PWM.

Nici compania Arctic Coolig nu face excepţie de la regula amintită şi este pregătită să ne prezinte două noi coolere pentru procesoare: Alpine 7 Pro şi Alpine 7 GT. Ambele sisteme de răcire utilizează ventilatoare cu funcţie de reglare automată a turaţiei, lagăre hidrodinamice şi un sistem de fixare special, care permite atenuarea vibraţiilor şi a nivelului de zgomot.

Este necesar să spunem că cele două coolere fac parte din seria Alpine 7 şi au o destinaţie destul de precisă: răcirea procesoarelor Intel LGA775 cu TDP-uri care nu depăşesc 90W (Alpine 7 Pro), respectiv 70W (Alpine 7 GT). Alpine 7 Pro deţine un ventilator cu dimensiunile standard de 92x92x32 mm, în timp ce Alpine 7 GT este echipat cu un fan care măsoară 80x80x30 mm. Ventilatoarele beneficiază de pale cu o formă specială, care ajută la diminuarea zgomotului produs în timpul funcţionării. Viteza de rotaţie a acestora poate fi reglată, fiind cuprinsă între 500 şi 2000 de rotaţii pe minut.

Cu alte cuvinte, cele două ventilatoare nu ridică pretenţii la vreun titlu de campioane: primul pompează 62.2 m³ de aer pe oră (36,7 CFM), iar ventilatorul deţinut de Alpine 7 GT se mulţumeşte cu un debit de aer de 48.5 m³/h (28.6 CFM). Oricum, asemenea performanţe sunt compensate de preţurile rezonabile: Alpine 7 Pro costă circa 11 €, în timp ce Alpine 7 GT afişează un tarif de numai 8,45 €. Garanţia oferită de producător este de şase ani.

Ghetto_64, a avea pretentii de la un mouse nu inseamna neaparat sa fii gamer, si un om normal poate dori o forma mai aparte care sa se potriveasca perfect mainii sale.
Aceasta tehnologie nici nu se adreseaza segmentului la care te referi tu.

Cei mai pretenţioşi utilizatori sunt gamerii.

Cei care folosesc calculatorul şi implicit mouse-ul foarte mult sunt de obicei oameni serioşi şi nu se coboară la nivelul modellino mouse with "fluffy colours". Asta e ştire pentru Techno Trend din XPC (sau mai bine zis secţiunea "Ca să fie acolo").

Ăsta e mouse de copii până în 10 ani (că apoi află de CS, WOW, UT şi se termină şmecheria) sau pentru fete.

Te asigur eu ca nu doar copii vor cumpara acest mouse .

Da,e copilareasca forma actuala, dar daca vor reusi pe viitor sa utilizeze si ceva tehnologii magnetice pentru rigidizarea suprafetei isi vor gasi si alte piete.

Nu generaliza. Eu sunt un user foarte pretentios si daca mi-ai vedea calculatorul ai jura ca sunt gamer (poate doar zarind G15 si vazand procul overclockat). Cu toate astea, folosesc calculatorul "serios" (cum te-ai exprimat tu) - nu am nici solitaire pe el.

Eu va prezint o placa de video 9800GX2. Sunt cele mai noi placi video de pe piata si cele mai bune. Multe teste arata ca aceasta placa face fata cu multa usurinta softurilor si a jocurilor din prezent.

Nu prea cred. Cel mai probabil sunt niste electrozi care inregistreaza activitatea electrica cerebrala pe acelasi principiu ca si EEG (electroencefalografia), care e cat se poate de inofensiva.

Lian Li launches PC-A77F Full Tower Chassis

Lian Li Industrial Co. Ltd Ltd today has launched the PC-A77F Full Tower chassis ideal for PC power users and server systems. Incorporating USB 3.0 functionality with 4x new USB 3.0 ports as well as the standard e-SATA x1 and HD+AC97 Audio. The hair-line brushed all black aluminum chassis features three Blue LED fans on the front (3x 120mm@1200RPM), and 2x Top 140mm fans @1000RPM, as well as 1x 120mm rear fan (1500RPM). Corsair Obsidian 700D Case Detailed

Quality-enthusiast Corsair is ready with its second PC case, the Obsidian 700D. The new 700D is positioned slightly lower than the 800D which the company debuted last year. Information on the 700D surfaced from a leaked company brochure. It shows the case to be an ATX full-tower, with black overall. There is no side-panel window like on the 800D, but is said to inherit most of the interior features of the 800D. There are six internal drive bays for HDDs or SSDs, five exposed 5.25″ and one exposed 3.5″ bay. Interiors are said to retain cable-management holes, three-zone cooling, and pre-drilled vents for a triple-120mm fan radiator.

The case measures 24″ (H) x 24″ (L) x 9″ (W) / 609 mm x 609 mm x 229 mm, weighs 34.8 lbs / 15.8 kg, and makes use of steel for the internal frame, and aluminum for its panels. There's room for three 140 mm and up to four 120 mm fans. There are eight expansion slots, so it makes room for a double-slot video card seated on the bottom-most slot of the motherboard. There's room for ITX, m-ATX, ATX, and EATX motherboard types, the motherboard tray has a cutout at the CPU socket area for easy handling of certain types of coolers. The front-panel has four USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire port, and the FP audio connectors. Corsair ships this case with a two-year warranty. Its price and availability remain yet to be known.
