A aparut noul LCD Dell de 24" 2408 WFP:

L-a vazut cineva la lucru?
Este mai bun decat vechiul 2407?
Am citit pe net niste lucruri care m-au cam ingrijorat si as vrea parerea celor care l-au vazut in actiune sau chiar il detin.

Din ce am citit din opiniile userilor ce au ambele versiuni, 08 are culori @ default ceva mai bune si rezolva/amelioreaza cateva bug-uri prezente in versiunea A04 la 2407WFP dar sufera de un input lag destul de mare fata de A04. (~35-40ms)

Input lag reprezinta diferenta de timp dintre momentul in care un semnal e trimis display-ului si momentul in care acesta il afiseaza,in general asta apare la modelele ce contin multe metode de procesare a semnalului gen overdrive.
Panel-urile ce sufera cel mai mult de acest fenomen sunt VA*-urile in special S-PVA,deasemenea valoarea input lag-ului difera intre modele ce sunt bazate pe acelasi panel.
Acum input lag-ul il simti cel mai mult in jocurile fast paced gen Quake/Unreal Tournament etc... si te poate impiedica sa joci la un nivel inalt aceste jocuri in multiplayer.
Input lag masurat pe monitorul meu (2407WFP A04) S-PVA vs. LG L192WS TN,imi pare rau ca nu mai am CRT-ul pe langa mn ca sa ofer un test corect.

Cea mai buna metoda e sa il testezi fata de un CRT cu un timer gen cel din poza mea,oricum 970P vine cu panel PVA si fenomenul nu se manifesta atat de puternic ca la variantele S-PVA/S-MVA.
Din cate imi amintesc cand am testat Dell vs CRT-ul Samsung aveam cam 22-24ms diferenta intre ele dar avantajele au detronat dezavantajele....

De un an tot astept sa apara un LCD de 24" cu gamut mare si fara probleme evidente de imagine dar si cu un pret decent... si din pacate nici acum nu vad nimic la orizont. Oare cat va trebui sa mai astept?

"It's been a long time coming, but Dell have finally started shipping the A01 revision of their 24" 2408WFP screen. Jimmy P of the Dell Community Forums has said: "I have news, as of yesterday [22 July 2008] all 2408's shipping as refurbished have the new firmware, as of Monday new monitors started coming off the production line with it. If you are ordering a new monitor you should wait about two weeks to make sure that they have a chance to get through the distribution network.
Due to a Dell internal process change many of the 2408's that will ship new with the revised firmware will have a different part number and not a different revision number. The only way you will be able to tell if it's the revised firmware is to check the sharpness setting, if the setting is in multiples of 10 then it is the revised firmware if it's in multiples of 25 then it's not. The part number has nothing to do with the revision but someone decided since we are changing the part number anyway the firmware will be A00 on that part number."
He went on later to explain that: "You can not upgrade the frimware yourself. We do not send out replacements just because of a revision, you have to actually have a technical problem. This firmware update features greater control over sharpness settings, improved power save recovery, and less input lag."
So it looks like all refurb models will already be shipping with the new firmware, but it would be best to wait a couple of weeks for the new stock to hit the supply chains. Bear in mind this is based on the US website, so no word as to whether the UK has the same pattern. It surely won't be far behind though. It will be interesting to see which "issues" have been addressed and updated when reviews starts to appear."

Nu are Lag-ul sesizabil,iar revizia nu stiu cum o sa i-ti dai seama caci nu va vi deocamdata (trecuta) va fi A00 inscriptionat.Oricum monitorul merita.

Eu o sa astept cel putin o luna pana se epuizeaza stocurile vechi, pana atunci apar review-uri pe net iar daca este ok poate il cumpar.

Am vazut si am inteles dar e corect si ce spun eu.Cit despre modelul fara revizie eu il am de aproape o luna si am reusit sa il calibrez cu greu si cred ca din prostie
si e suberb .Pe tv tuner analog bate cam toate lcdurile actuale in limita bugetului respectiv.
La jocuri nu am avut timp sa il studiez prea bine,o sa mai revin.Din tot ce am citit despre el singura problema ar fi culoarea sau umbra de rosu de apare usor sesizabila la unele litere text.Pentru grafica nu sunt profesionist si ma abtin.Inainte de al lua m-am documentat cam peste tot si eram si eu in dubi,chiar renuntasem dar cineva mi-la adus si ma lasat sa il testez si am fost multumit,initial vroiam sa il testez pe dvi dar ma convis pe vga.Pe dvi chia e bestial.
